A brief trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film, There Will Be Blood, an adaption of Oil! , a 1927 novel by Upton Sinclair. I love Daniel Day-Lewis’s voice. (via aicn)

Mmmmm, looks tasty. What about the trailer for the new Coen Bro's flick? It looks so much better than there past few films. Also, go to bed.
let us now play "p.t.a press your luck."
(fingers crossed)
"punchdrunklovepunchdrunklovepunchdrunklove, NO magnolia, no magnolia, c'moooon punchdrunklove, no magnolia STOP!"
Interesting jbg. i hated punch drunk and loved Magnolia. Of course I only saw each one once.
Bah! PDL = sublimely understated and not taking itself seriously. M = bullshit!
Except for the frogs, which were still kinda bullshit.
There is a movie about the length of Punch Drunk Love inside of Magnolia that's nearly a masterpiece. And then there's all the other stuff, which drags the whole thing down.
well stated, cm. that's how i feel about it. lotta potential, wasted. PDL realizes that potential.
I agree CM. Magnolia needed a big chopping. Films where the directors get full autonomy often do. But did you like Punch Drunk? I mean, I was suprised on how terrible I thought it was. It was the kind of terrible only a talented person could make, but still, just unwatchable. But I know lots of people who love it, so what do I know.
Yes, I liked PDL, so I obviously didn't find it unwatchable. I really liked the sound design and much of the cinematography. And I was amused by the Emily Watson / Adam Sandler relationship. I didn't particularly like the scenes with just Sandler, and there was much of that. Not a great movie, but at least it was tight.
funny. "I was suprised on how terrible I thought it was. It was the kind of terrible [movie] only a talented person could make."
that's exactly how i feel about magnolia.
he's just that polarizing, i guess. just like barry bonds.
