Another Tarantino Twofer
Quentin Tarantino is at it again: in a recent interview being released as a DVD extra next month, he stated that his upcoming war film, Inglourious Basterds, will be released in two parts, a la Kill Bill. If you include Grindhouse, that makes it three double movies in a row.

Whatever happened to economic and concise storytelling? I liked his last few films, but perhaps they would be even better if Tarantino learned to edit himself a bit.
Nah... His last few movies were some of his best. The Kill Bill movies were great, and the Kurt Russell one too (can't remember the name)
LAA, I happen to know someone who's an editor. Perhaps that person would be interested in turning Kill Bill into a 90 minute masterpiece for all the world to enjoy?
It could be a resume builder.
His Grind house movie is the one that I would edit. Really enjoyed it once it got going, but had way too much fat. But before I edit Kill Bill or Deathproof I want to edit Peter Jackson's King Kong down to an hour and a half. That movie needed huge amounts of editing.
i wouldn't count grindhouse, since he didn't direct both pictures.
and i love kill bill. but i won't know if the format makes a ton of sense when translated.
LAA, i don't know if KK needs much editing: you just have to cut the first 2 hours and leave the stuff above NYC. so, i guess keep the opening credits, and then one cut to the empire state scene. if naomi watts had gotten naked, i guess that could be left in. (ditto adrien brody).
kill bill and this are one movie in two parts, and grindhouse is two movies released in one part. that can't be three double movies -- depending how you look at it it's either one double movie and four half-movies or two double movies and two half movies.
he should make a miniseries for hbo.
Rephrase: three four-hour movies.
