Cardboard speed cops
Cops in Vancouver are getting smart: they are putting out realistic cardboard cutouts of cops holding radar guns to discourage speeding. Sometimes there’s a real cop behind one, sometimes not. (thx, sio)

Hasn't this kind of thing been done for a while? I think I remember seeing something on The Daily Show about a town with a police car with a dummy inside a long time ago. I believe I've also read about towns using cut-outs before.
I remember one of the towns outside Yellowstone had a dummy cop car on the way in. Not cardboard, but not functional, so same thing.
