David Cross defends his appearance in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.

I have not seen the movie so I can’t really comment to whether it’s an “evil” or “dangerous” “piece of shit” or not. The reason I haven’t seen the movie is because I am not eight years old.

this was fascinatingly enjoyable to read for many reasons. but the best is that it is refreshingly honest and surprisingly un-mean. given his onstage persona and comedic bent, i would've expected a far angrier and meaner explanation -- but i liked how he said he genuinely likes to work, and i like how he admits he just did it to buy a little cottage. it makes him sound nice. ha, ha you're nice, david cross!

besides, he was ALSO in "eternal sunshine," and played ginsburg in "i'm not there." so eat it patton oswalt.

Actually, given his onstage persona, I'm surprised he even felt the need to defend himself. He's an actor, he needs to eat, he took an acting job, big whoop. Let those among us who have never done something lame at work cast the first stone.
