I’ve been digging Dan Deacon’s super-upbeat album Spiderman of the Rings recently, and in Googling him found this odd appearance on a Baltimore local morning news broadcast (NBC). Not your usual local news material.

nice to see local morning news getting a little bit of flair, even if only a little. i would classify that as "crazymonk music", though not the worst of the genre.
Incidentally, I saw him play last night, and it was fucking awesome. I guess "saw" is the wrong word, 'cause he sets up on the floor, so that all I could see from where I was was the glow-in-the-dark green skull mask covering a strobe light and perched atop a pole, looking out over the crowd and flashing like a toxic seizure.
Is it just me, or is his barn door open?
Is that, like, the proverbial barn door?
Seriously, I want to marry that man. So that's actually a TV appearance and not just a video he made? The best thing about that clip is how dude's talking about how old the gear is, but like the show itself could've been shot in like '81- that little video effect at the end, where Dan's in the little round window and his gear gets a close-up? Awesome.
he seems all right, but watching this mostly made me wish that wesley willis weren't dead.
