Teaser trailer for Youth Without Youth, the first Francis Ford Coppola directed film in ten years. It’s based on a novella by Mircea Eliade, which one blurb describes as “like a surreal collaboration by Jorge Luis Borges, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and Carl Jung.”

I am surprised that during the trailer there weren't interview blurbs from Coppola talking about how he has gone back to independent film making. His publicist is really flogging that idea to death and I am very tired of it.

Have you seen the Sweeny Todd trailer. It looks cool but has potential to be a huge mess. I imagine that one day I will have to hear from Tim Burton about how he has gone back to small film making.

Sadly, Yahoo trailers DO NOT look fantastic.

Wasn't Mircea Eliade pretty much a fascist, eminent scholar though he was?
