The Big Picture’s photo series on the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games is fascinating for several reasons, but mostly because of how darn hard some of the events seem.

Wow. Why aren't they broadcasting this? It would be amazing on so many levels.

I've seen it broadcast before in the states (Sydney?) and I don't think I'd ever been brought to such emotion watching form of media. The picture that got me in this series is the one of the man from Gabon, disqualified for his non-racing wheelchair. I can't imagine what he had to do to get a wheelchair in the first place. In most of the developing world there are even larger hurdles than are faced here. Thanks for posting this.
