Yet another story, this one at the Vancouver airport, about an innocent man being killed by police misuse of Tasers. I hope there’s an uproar in Canada about this, and that police everywhere begin to treat Tasers more like guns. (via bb)

when has there ever been "an uproar in Canada" about anything?

jbg. | Fri, 10/26/2007 - 4:40pm

The war of 1812?

The Alan Thicke incident of 1991?

The Michael J. Fox fiasco of 1994?

Guy Fawkes day?

By the way, today is Nevada Day. I don't think Canadians care.

Do Nevadans care?

This event was/is a big issue in Canada. I suspect that the American media does not often report on which issues Canadians debate / get in an uproar about. Too busy reporting on Nevada Day, probably.

We're just so used to police brutality down here that we ignore it, Sio.

AFAICT, our media really only cares about Canadian law insofar as Americans flee to BC to avoid going to federal prison for smoking pot.

If the guy wouldn't have been throwing a tantrum in the airport he would have been o.k. He won't be doing that again any time soon .

You're right. Maybe they should've just shot him in the head with a gun?

crazymonk | Thu, 11/15/2007 - 12:12pm

Alternatively, they could've just kicked him in the nutz.
